In the morning, we met on the Danube bank at the statue of Henryk Slawik and József Antall Sr. There is an identical statue in Warsaw, which emphasizes the parallel between the two heroes even more. Both of them helped Jewish refugees and children during World War II. They provided them with false documents, found them a hiding place, and established an orphanage. Both of them risked their lives, they were true heroes, the Righteous of the World. At school, the students created two online games for those who will watch the videos in Warsaw or at our school. With an online escape room and an online treasure hunt game, we would like to draw attention to the many Polish-Hungarian historical and cultural similarities. After lunch, we went on a guided tour of the Parliament Building. We learned that the blue-bloods had a blue carpet, that it is not easy to change light bulbs above the Holy Crown, and what it means that „this speech is worth a Havana.” After a delicious slice of Zacher cake (instead of Somlói, unfortunately) at the Szamos Confectionery, many people could also eat a Hungarian lángos with cheese and sour cream, but many were overwhelmed by the huge portion. Some of them were still filming videos of the project assignment in the afternoon, or went shopping, to a thermal spa, or to the Island. Our day today was definitely worth a Havana!
